On the day of trial the prosecutors dropped all charges against Dominick.
Dominick was worried about having a crime on his record. He didn’t want to plead guilty to something he didn’t do.
Dominick C. went into a Walmart in Pembroke Pines where he started putting grocery items into a shopping cart. He then tried to conceal those items in a black tote bag and exit the store without paying for them. The store security guard saw what he was doing and followed him outside. Surveillance cameras showed that this loss prevention employee physically attacked Dominick outside the store. He was then arrested for shoplifting.
We had to be very aggressive on this case. We went to the Walmart in Pembroke Pines and took pictures of all the surveillance cameras. There were many that would have captured the entire incident but none of the footage was saved by Walmart or the police, which was very suspicious. We took depositions of the loss prevention officers and the cops. We exposed the terrible one-sided investigation they did and proved to the prosecutor that Walmart’s loss prevention employee overreacted and was wrong in his assumptions.
