We got the prosecutor to drop Janet’s charges so that she can return to her successful career.
Janet is a Harvard educated dentist, and did not want a misunderstanding to tarnish her years of hard work and professional reputation. Janet was worried that the Dental Board would find out about her arrest, and she did not want future clients to Google her and see her mugshot.
Janet D. and her husband were in their house when they started to get in an argument over the trash. They began screaming at each other when Janet threw her shoe at him. Her husband also told Janet to hit him, egging her on and escalating the situation. Janet’s husband called the police to act as a peacemaker and therapist, but they had to make an arrest once they arrived on the scene. Because of this rule, Janet was brought to jail and charged with domestic violence. Janet’s husband immediately regretted calling the police and instead called us to help straighten out the situation.
We aggressively pushed the case forward during the pre-filing stage, providing the prosecutor and case filing department a waiver of prosecution from Janet’s husband. We also got Janet and her husband into marriage counseling, which helped show that they made a mistake and were both at fault for the fight.
