Hi, I’m Scott Simmons, a dedicated attorney known for my relentless advocacy and commitment to helping others. Born and raised in South Florida, I developed a deep sense of justice early on. Witnessing firsthand the struggles faced by individuals without proper representation fueled my passion to become a lawyer.
My legal journey started at Florida Atlantic University, where I excelled academically and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. During my time at FAU, I had the opportunity to intern at the Broward Public Defender’s Office, which solidified my passion for wanting to help others.
Eager to expand my knowledge and legal expertise, I pursued a Juris Doctorate at Nova Southeastern University – Shepard Broad College of Law. Throughout my law school years, I earned numerous accolades and recognition for my exceptional skills in trial advocacy.
I proudly showcased my courtroom prowess by winning the nation’s largest Moot Court Criminal Procedure Competition. Additionally, I received recognition for my writing abilities and was awarded the second-best brief in the same competition. I also participated in various other National Trial Competitions, where I continued to demonstrate my exceptional litigation skills.
My commitment to excellence was evident as I consistently achieved Dean’s List honors throughout my law school career. My outstanding performance in the trial advocacy class earned me the highest grade, highlighting my exceptional grasp of courtroom dynamics. Thanks to my exceptional advocacy skills, I was inducted into the prestigious Order of Barristers, a national society celebrating excellence in courtroom advocacy.
Before joining the Rossen Law Firm, I served my community as an Assistant Public Defender in Broward County, Florida. I handled various cases during my tenure, from second-degree misdemeanors to serious felonies like Armed Carjacking and DUI Manslaughter. I tirelessly fought for my clients’ rights and best interests, striving to help each of them achieve their best future.
While at the Broward Public Defender’s Office, I was recognized for my trial skills and ability to receive multiple “Not Guilty” verdicts in a row.
Joining the Rossen Law Firm was a natural choice for me, as I recognized the firm’s commitment to providing exceptional legal services and client-centered representation. By being part of the Rossen Law Firm’s team of highly skilled and compassionate attorneys, I can help my clients through the most stressful times of their lives and ultimately assist them in achieving their best futures.
When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and I love taking my golden doodle to the dog park. As a South Florida native, I cherish being out on the water, fishing and scuba diving.
I am also a big fan of the Miami Dolphins.
